About Me

I shoot sharp. That's the first thing anyone notices about my work and it's deliberate. I want the texture in skin, the individual hairs, the catchlight in an eye. I don't smooth people into plastic and I don't hide detail behind a filter.

The second thing is emotion. A technically perfect photograph of nothing is still a photograph of nothing. I shoot fast and I talk while I do it, because the frames worth keeping usually happen a half second after someone stops performing for the camera.

I came to photography through design. I have a Master's in Interdisciplinary Design from Chatham University and years of work as a designer and art director behind me. I've also run social media and content for a Pittsburgh startup incubator, so if you need images ready to post, not just ready to print, that's part of what I bring to a session. I work in English and Spanish.
